    Ideas take shape through drawings and conversation, refined until the fit is right.

    Documents are completed and guided through local review and permitting.

    Construction Oversight

    We can also stay on through the build, fielding questions from your contractor, keeping the work true to the drawings, and helping navigate changes as they come up.

For more than 25 years, KW Architects PC has designed spaces that balance craft and livability—from distinctive commercial buildings to coastal homes shaped by their surroundings.

Based in the Kennebunk and Kennebunkport area, we work throughout southern Maine on residential renovations, new construction, and mixed-use projects. Whether it's a careful update to an oceanfront cottage or a ground-up commercial building, our approach is the same: listen first, design with intention, and pay attention to the details that make a place work day after day.

KW Architects PC is a Certified Passive House practice. We design ultra–energy-efficient, comfortable, healthy buildings using high-performance insulation, airtight construction, and heat-recovery ventilation — homes and buildings that cost less to run and feel better to live in year-round.

Kristi Kenney

AIA · LEED NC BD+C

Kristi Kenney founded KW Architects in 2003. Kristi is a Maine Registered Architect, member of the National Council of Architecture Registration Board (NCARB) and a LEED Accredited Professional as well as a Passive House Certified Designer. Kristi has a Bachelor of Architecture from University of Miami, class of 1994. Kristi bounced all around the United States and Europe practicing in Southern Florida, Arizona and the southwest United States and even Stuttgart, Germany before settling in Maine. With over 20 years of experience, Kristi has learned that the best projects start with listening to the client's vision and providing the best customer service.

Anne Pelletier

Architect

Anne Pelletier has a Master of Architecture from the University of Oregon and a Bachelor of Arts with Honors from Vassar College. Anne is also a licensed Architect with experience originally from the Midwest, having worked in Eugene and Bend, Oregon before moving to Maine in 2005.

We're a small firm by choice. That means the architect you meet at the first conversation is the one guiding your project through design, permitting, and construction. It also means we know the local landscape—shoreland zoning, flood mapping, MUBEC code, and the realities of building on the Maine waterfront areas—so your project moves forward with fewer surprises.

Good architecture isn't just about how a space looks. It's about how it feels to live and work in, how it holds up to the seasons, and how it fits the place it belongs to. That's the work we care about, and it's why so much of our business comes from clients and builders we've worked with before.
